The last time I attended the Atlanta Jewelry Show was nine years ago when I worked at a local antique jewelry store. This was the first jewelry show I ever attended and I couldn’t wait to see what it was going to be like! Attending a show with co-workers is very different than what I do now, but I remember then having tasks to complete — like buying some watch bands, finding new styles of diamond fashion pendants, and we even made up a fun contest amongst us. My mission when covering a show today is far different, but with both scenarios, it is important to be open to see new things, search out for eye-catching jewelry and gems, and not be afraid to explore and chat to further your knowledge. For many jewelry stores, attending the Atlanta Jewelry Show is necessary to fill voids that happen in inventory, especially this time of year! It also is a perfect opportunity to learn, as the show provides numerous educational “learning labs” throughout the weekend.
